Which type of parasol should you choose?
Choosing a parasol depends on the outdoor space, the shape of the parasol and the type of furniture you wish to shade.
There are, in fact, various models to suit different needs:
the standard parasol with a wooden or aluminium pole, which is simple and easy to set up, remains the most classic choice and is equally suitable for a patio, balcony or garden;
the offset parasol, which is more modern, provides a generous area of shade and greater comfort for dining;
the rectangular parasol is ideal for large gatherings and provides a generous area of shade, whilst the round or square parasol fits perfectly with a round table and is practical for smaller spaces. Choosing the right shape is essential, as different shapes affect the area covered and must be suited to the available space. The canopy, often made of polyester, must be of good quality and provide effective protection from the sun’s rays, whilst being wind- and weather-resistant.
The parasol base must be stable and of a suitable size to ensure safe use, and the opening mechanisms must remain practical for everyday use. Finally, the colour of the canopy affects not only the design but also its ability to provide long-lasting protection and retain its attractive appearance. In summary, the best choice will depend on the size of your patio or garden, the type of table and your expectations in terms of comfort, aesthetic appeal and durability.
